I stood in a long line at the admission office at the community College. I'm still missing a required class,Knife Skills.Class is full, I'm # 9 on the wait list, have been since 8/6/09. I was told to go to the first class and see if the teacher ( chef ) will add me. If I don't get knife skills, my Culinary Fundamental I class will be dropped. It's out of my control, and I will wait to see where my Culinary career goes. I continue reading "The Making Of A Chef", by Michael Ruhlman. I'm learning so much from this book. I spent 2 hours just reading on the making and process of Stock, learned a lot about all different types of stock.
I plan to feed my passion with cooking this week end. I enjoy shopping for food as much as I do shopping for clothes.
Tonight's, menu. Short ribs in a deep rich wine sauce, Fall Roasted Vegetables , sun dried & garlic Corn bread muffins. I make extra, due to every week end I take meals to my elderly parents, there 65 miles from me and they don't want Meals On Wheels, so I have become their Meals on Wheels every week. I make enough different meals, that will take them through each week. I also cook extra for an employee at my Husbands work. This employee is down & out and depends on the brown bag meals I send, so I do have a small group that depends on my cooking, meals. It's my pleasure/Passion. TK
